Dining

Enjoy the cuisine that predominates in Costa Rica, as your personal chef prepares your meals at your discretion. Costa Rica's flavorful cuisine combines traditions from Africa, India, France, China and Spain.

Dining

All ingredients used in Recreo's cooking come straight from Costa Rica's tropical garden and local purveyors. Costa Ricans use the word tico to refer to themselves and their ideals. Known to be friendly, helpful, laid back, unhurried people, their cooking style is a reflection of their way of life.

Tico cuisine is full of culture, tradition and amazing flavors. Staples include rice and beans, fruits, and vegetables. The food is not particularly spicy but rather seasoned with natural herbs, most commonly cilantro. Your menu can incorporate these staples, or not, pending your preferences. Guests can enjoy dining either indoors in the main dining room, poolside or on adjoining patios. Arrangements can also be made for a private dinner at the Mountain Top Lookout and for breakfast service in the privacy of your room.
