Although the beaches immediately surrounding Recreo are not ideal for surfing, there are several spots within 1 1/2 to 3 hours drive from Recreo that offer world class surfing. Day trips and overnight surfing excursions to famous surf spots at Witch's Rock/Ollie's Point, Tamarindo, and San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua can be arranged.
